There are ways to make it easier to repair your devices. A new self-repair option is coming this summer, with the latest effort from the manufacturer.

Soon owners of the device will have access to genuine device parts, repair tools, and step-by-step repair guides. They will be able to replace display assembly, back glass and charging ports. Once their devices are fixed, they can send in their old parts so they can be recycled.

iFixit is partnering with SAMSUNG to help develop a solution for repair information.

There are a lot of options for customers to repair their phones, from same-day in-person support at select Best Buy stores to direct customer repair visits. Being able to fix the device herself with genuine parts and tools is another way to extend the life of her phone, especially now that it's possible to get some of its best phones for as long as five years.

Ramon Gregory, the senior vice president of consumer care at Samsung, said that the company is creating more ways for consumers to extend the lifespan of their products.

The program will start this summer for the devices. The program is intended to be extended to more devices.
