Satellites continue to show the toll that Russia is taking on the people of Ukraine.
On Tuesday (March 29), for example, Maxar Technologies captured a photo of hundreds of people queueing up outside a grocery store in Mariupol, a port city in southern Ukraine.
A public relations company that represents Maxar said in an email that they were waiting to receive food and other supplies.

Basic necessities are hard to find in Mariupol. The city has been under siege for more than a month. The capture of the city is a priority for Russia and they have been bombarding it with missiles and cannons.
Satellites operated by Maxar, Planet, BlackSky and other companies have documented the damage and destruction over the past month, and the new Maxar imagery fleshes it out further still.
Two photos taken on Tuesday show a number of apartment buildings and houses reduced to rubble.
The invasion of Ukraine has made Russia something of a pariah, and the United States and other nations have imposed harsh economic sanctions on Russia.
The space partnership between Russia and the West has been affected. Russia has stopped selling its rocket engines to American companies and has stopped using Russian-made rockets at the Spaceport in French Guiana.
Some areas of cooperation are still active. The recent return to Earth of NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hei and Pyotr Dubrov as well as cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anton Shkaplerov shows that Russia is still an active partner in the International Space Station program. The trio landed on the ground in the middle of the night in the country of Kazakhstan.
