Lawyers for the congressional aide who says Jerry Jones is her biological father blasted the Dallas Cowboys owner on Wednesday, saying he accuses his own daughter of extortion and is a conspiracy to exploit him.
Mr. Jones has stooped so low as to attempt to tie his other daughter's divorce to his many scandals.
In a lawsuit filed in Dallas on March 3, Davis claimed that Jones is her biological father.
The ex-husband of Charlotte Jones was asked by his lawyer to preserve evidence of all communications he had with a number of people, including one of the lawyers for Davis.
Bergman and Gray wrote thatAlexandra was not conspiring with anyone to reveal the Jerry Jones and Dallas Cowboys scandals.
Lawyers for Jones asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit because they claimed that she was involved in multiple extortion attempts against him and the Cowboys. The lawsuit claimed that Davis had delivered a draft of the lawsuit to Jones and asked if he would make a deal and not be publicly identified as her father.
In the 428-word statement released to ESPN, lawyers for Davis insisted that their client is not motivated by money and has never asked Jones or his representatives for a single dollar. They said Davis wants to have a judge lift an agreement that was entered into by Jones and his representatives and his mother, Cynthia Davis Spencer, when she was 1-year-old for the purpose of being legally acknowledged as Jones' daughter.
The lawyers claim that Jones has hurt Davis.
After years of anguish, embarrassment, feelings of abandonment, and now faced with a potentially fatal illness to her mother,Alexandra wants to be legally acknowledged.
Levi McCathern II and Charles L. Babcock, Jones' personal lawyers, did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
Jones filed in court on Monday, but he did not specifically deny that he is the father of the girl. Bergman and Gray challenged Jones to publicly deny that he is the father of the girl.
They challenged Mr. Jones to produce any evidence that he tried to bind a child to a written agreement preventing him from telling people who his father is, or that he tried to extort him.
Jones did not discuss the allegations. On Monday, while attending the annual owners meetings of the NFL in Palm Beach, Florida, Jones called Davis' claims a personal issue.
Davis, who worked in the Trump White House, has not said anything about her claim.
According to the initial complaint, Davis has lived her life without a father and in secret in fear that she and her mother would lose financial support.
Cynthia Davis Spencer is alleged to have been paid $375,000 by Jones when she worked at the American Airlines ticket counter in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Despite being deprived of a father her entire life,Alexandra is an intelligent, hard-working, upstanding, educated young woman who happens to be the dispossessed, secret, hidden, unrecognized daughter of Mr. Jones.
