Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, and Anthony Mackie as Bucky Barnes, Helmut Zemo, and Sam Wilson, respectively, in Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Disney+ has introduced more stringent content filters to allow graphically violent series to co-exist with the platform's all-ages content. The updated controls have meant that at least one other series has received edits.

This article has been updated to include commentary from Disney. There is a modified version of the original post.

Several moments in the third episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier have been modified for graphic content if viewed while using Disney+.

The second is not normal. Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes incapacitating an attacker by throwing a pipe with his arm pinning them to a shipping container during a gunfight after the above scene. The sound of the pipe hitting the attacker's body is graphic, but there is little visible blood from the wound. The sound effect is the same, but the pipe is off-camera when it hits Bucky's attacker.

io9 has confirmed that if a Disney+ account is used, both scenes from Falcon and the Winter Soldier will remain the same. These are the only edits on Falcon and the Winter Soldier that have more graphic moments. The next episode of The Whole World Is Watching features the shield of Captain America caked in blood after current wielder John Walker uses it to publicly beat a man to death.

The changes have been made in error, not due to any changes to the platform's filters. A Disney+ source told io9 that the changes to the episode were due to a version control issue and that the streamer is currently in the process of fixing the issue.

This isn't the first time Disney+ has had altered content on the platform, and it isn't the last. The streamer launched with an edited version of Star Wars: A New Hope's famous Greedo vs. Han encounter. Disney's U.S. offerings begin to offer a wider array of mature content, as the parental filters on the platform existed in international regions like Europe.
