For some players, the winning word was Harry, while for others it was Solitaire. Jordan Cohen, New York Times executive director of communications, confirmed in an email that the answer had been changed. HARRY is an example of an obscure word.

Dictionary.com states that harry means to harass, agitate, or trouble by or as if by repeated attacks.

Wordle has had two different answers before. Wordle 241 caused an uproar when it was changed from AGORA to Aroma.

Wordle was bought by the New York Times. Many players keep the page open in their browser because they are worried about losing their streak. Cohen said to refresh their browser.
