The awards season is upon us. Now that the Oscars are over, it is time for the BAFTA nominations.
Russell T Davies' It's A Sin has 11 nominations, including best writer, making it the most nominated film of the year. The story of five friends living together over a decade in London during the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the 1980's is set in IcyMI.
Olly Alexander is up against David Thewlis for Landscapers for a leading actor nomination, which is the second most nominated show this year with seven categories. The four actors who are up for best supporting actor are all from It's A Sin.
The best actress category will include Lydia West of It's A Sin, Kate Winslet of Easttown, Jodie Comer of Help, and Niamh Algar of Deceit.
We Are Lady Parts is up for three awards, including best scripted comedy, a writer nomination for creator Nida Manzoor, and Anjana Vasan, who plays Amina, up for best female performance in a comedy programme. She is up against Sex Education, Starstruck, This Way Up, and Stath Lets.
Ncuti Gatwa is up for best male performance in a comedy programme.
