On Wednesday night, Uddin will become the first assistant manager of an England men's side hailing from Britain's South Asian community.

Uddin, who joined the FA Council, is an assistant to long-serving Paul Fairclough for the England C match with Wales C.

Sky Sports News breaks the story that Anwar Uddin is becoming the first British South Asian former footballer in the history of the FA Council.

Uddin played for and captained Barnet under Fairclough.

Half of the England C team of coaches are from a South Asian background, so the game will be special for the British South Asian community.

Two of the most respected British South Asian coaches in English football have joined the support team preparing England for this fixture. The Balham FC manager is part of the coaching support team.

Singh is a former player and a youth coach. The Sikh-Punjabi is an FA coach developer and an assistant manager.

The former Zambia national team assistant coach has worked at a number of English football clubs, including Burton, Wigan, and Chorley.

Uddin is the first British-Bangladeshi to play professional football in England and spent two-and-a-half years as an assistant manager.

Shin Aujla from the official Three Lions supporters group Apna England spoke to Sky Sports News after the win and said that they were proud of the three players.

It is not every day that you can see British South Asian men wearing the Three Lions across their chest. That will inspire people from all walks of life, but especially the kids and the coaches from minority communities.

It is something to celebrate and it sends out a message of hope. At a time when there is a real spotlight on diversity, what a great advert for English football and coaching.
