The company known for its fancy vacuum cleaners and Airwrap has announced a new product. That connect to a device that cleans the air.

Let us explain. The Dyson Zone is a pair of headphones that attach to a small air purifier that goes across the nose and mouth area. It is Dyson's first venture into the world of audio tech and air purification.

500 prototypes of the Dyson Zone have been developed to fight noise and air pollution. On the audio side, the headphones have three active noise cancellation modes, the highest level of noise cancellation, conversation, and transparency, which let in the most noise and help you remain aware of your surroundings.

The visor has four air purification modes: low, medium, high, and auto. The auto mode should help the wearer switch between the different modes if they need to. The visor should not touch the wearer's face at any point, attaching only to the headphones themselves and allowing for two streams of cleaned air to flow directly to the nose and mouth.

Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer, said in a press release that the Dyson Zone purifies the air you breathe on the move. We are excited to deliver pure air and pure audio anywhere after six years of development.

The Dyson Zone is not a tech-based alternative for surgical masks because it is not a Covid-specific device.

The Dyson Zone can be worn in four different ways. It can be worn in ANC-the-max mode, with visor attached for a combination noise and air pollution solution. It can be worn as just headphones, with the level of ANC preferred in use. Dyson has built in an option to add on a more classic face mask with a sealed edge, which is an attachment that comes with the Dyson Zone. Dyson has a FFP2 face covering attachment that will meet higher standards.

While the Dyson Zone is the company's first Wearable device, this is not the first time Dyson has dealt with air purification. Dyson began its air cleaning path with the launch of its Pure Cool fan back in 2015. The Dyson Zone takes all of the company's previous developments and hopes to put it into an on-the-go package with a side of headphones.

The Dyson Zone is expected to be available online and in-store at Dyson demo stores in the fall of 2022.
