Emirates says it will continue flying to Russia as long as the Dubai government tells it to, weeks after major airlines suspended operations to the country

The President of the carrier said on Tuesday that it will continue to fly to Russia as long as it is told to.

As long as the state requires us to fly there, we will continue, according to President Tim Clark.

We have humanitarian goods in our holds. We have NGOs in and out of Russia. Clark said that the diplomatic community was going in and out of Russia, and that they were only doing that to be an escargot, without taking a political position on the issue.

Major carriers pulled out of Russia due to the sanctions over the Ukraine war. The United Arab Emirates has not condemned Russia for the war in Ukraine or imposed sanctions against the country.

Clark told reporters at the summit that there are no goods on the planes.

Clark said he wasn't in a position to say who or what about the individuals who have been sanctioned. They may not be sanctioned here because they are sanctioned by the West.

Clark said in an interview on Tuesday that the Russian people are also affected by sanctions.

The Russian people are not the focus of the sanctions.

Turkish Airlines is one of the major airlines still serving Russia.
