You can watch the return of the NASA astronauts and two cosmonauts live.
The International Space Station is scheduled to be unlocked at 3:21 a.m. on Wednesday. Just over four hours later, after the sun goes down, you can return to Earth in the open grassland of Kazakhstan.
You can watch the return to Earth live at Space.com, courtesy of NASA, or directly via the space agency. Coverage of the farewells of departing astronauts and the closing of the hatches connecting the station and the Soyuz will begin Tuesday night. On March 30th, it starts at 0330GMT. The coverage begins at 2:45 a.m. A landing stream will begin at 6:30 a.m. The time is 1015 GMT.
The International Space Station is being built.
Vande Hei's 355 day mission on the space station is the longest ever spent by an American in the final frontier. Scott Kelly was the previous record holder, who spent over 300 days in the space station.
Dubrov is coming home after 355 days in space, but that is not a Russian record. Valery Polyakov lived on the Russian space station Mir from January 1994 to March 1995 and spent 437 days off Earth.
The world has changed a lot as Vande Hei, Shkaplerov, Dubrov and their colleagues have shown. Relations between Russia and the United States are more strained now that Russia has invaded Ukraine.
Despite the invasion and sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and other nations, the International Space Station continues to operate. The spaceflyers have voiced their opinions.
There are problems on Earth. Shkaplerov handed over the keys to the station to Tom Marshburn during a change of command ceremony on Tuesday.
