Jeffrey Lurie said that the team wanted to bring back the Kelly green uniforms but wanted to match them with the classic helmets. Until this past year, the NFL only allowed teams to have a fixed base color on their helmets.

The Kelly green uniforms are being brought back by the Eagles. They will have black helmets in 2022.
