We had a clear vision when we opened the Indonesia office, to develop products and programs that were helpful for Indonesians. The original vision of the team is just as important today as it was in the past.
I took the opportunity to look at our archives as we mark the 10th anniversary of the company in Indonesia. There are 10 top moments from the past decade.
Over the years, many of our products and features have been developed with Indonesians in mind. We have features that are helpful to Indonesians. The second-most spoken language with 83 million native speakers is included in the list of Indonesia's hundreds of languages.
The Two-Wheel feature was launched by the company.
2. There are two million Indonesians with digital skills.
With internet adoption growing rapidly in Indonesia, it's a priority for Google to help ensure the next wave of entrepreneurs, businesses, and individuals are well-equipped with digital skills. We launched several programs with local partners before the opening of our office to help small and medium-sized businesses with their online presence. We launched programs like Gapura Digital and Women Will, which have collectively trained more than 2 million Indonesians.
The workshops were free in 2019.
3. Over 200,000 Indonesian mobile developers are supported.
A fan of tahu bulat, Own Games ID created a fun game with the same name that has over 10 million downloads to date. Indonesia has inspired us in our efforts to train over 200,000 developers. We continue to find ways to mentor and nurture the developer community through programs like the one offered by the company.

4. Through Street View, we bringBorobudur to the world.
Seven years ago, our Street View operators strapped on the trekker and set out to capture panoramic images of the world's largest and oldest Buddhist temple:Borobudur in Magelang. Anyone in the world can explore and enjoy Indonesia's landmarks and natural beauty, no matter where they are.

5. Technology is protecting our ocean.
Indonesia is home to some of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world, but there is more work to be done to ensure our heritage is protected for future generations. The Gringgo Foundation, backed by funding support from Google.org, has developed tools to address plastic waste pollution. We worked with the former Minister of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, who used the technology behind the Global Fishing Watch to address illegal fishing.

Indonesia's independence was the subject of our first Doodle.
7. The next generation.
Every Indonesian should have access to digital education and training opportunities, and we offer training tailored to people's skill levels and goals. More people were trained in job-ready skills with the introduction of the Google Career Certificates. In order to equip more Indonesians with in-demand skills for the tech industry, we introduced the intensive six-month training program, called Bangkit. The program has trained almost 2,500 people, including one who became an IT manager after completing the program. We will graduate another 3000 students later this year.
The IT Manager at Trapo Indonesia is a graduate of Bangkit.
There are 8. Supporting the news industry.
We work closely with Indonesian news publishers to make sure everyone has access to quality information. We help publishers build their business models, empower newsrooms through technology, and learn the latest tools and reporting skills. We have trained more than 23,000 journalists and funded the fact-checking mission of the Cek Fakta network.

There are 9. There are over 100 million people on the video sharing website.
In Indonesia, we have seen incredible highs since the launch of YouTube. Indonesia is full of talented individuals who are waiting to be discovered. Indonesian creators are changing what it means to be an artist. Weird Genius, a local band collaborating with well-known musicians worldwide and sharing their music with Indonesia and the world through YouTube, is a good example. It's hard to see the role YouTube plays in Indonesians' lives. Some viewers feel like they are part of a larger community. For others, it is about allowing them to learn new skills. In Indonesia, the number of people watching YouTube is more than 100 million a month.
10. Dozens of Googlers serving Indonesia today are the people.
The people are one of my favorite things to do at work. I am proud to see that our office has grown from four employees to dozens of people working on projects in Indonesia.
The Indonesia team is in the office.
Over the past 10 years, we have accomplished a lot with the people, communities and businesses we support. I'm looking forward to seeing what more we can do to help Indonesia. Happy anniversary, Indonesia!
