The Los Angeles Lakers will play the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday without James.

The injury occurred in the Los Angeles defeat to New Orleans.

The Lakers will likely be remembered as one of the most disappointing teams in recent memory, but James has at least provided a steady source of entertainment.

The 18-time All-Star has averaged 30.1 points, 8.2 rebound and 6.3 assists. This year has been a return to his early days with the Cleveland Cavaliers, when a herculean effort was often required to get his team across the finish line.

No amount of heroics from James can fully compensate for the glaring flaws in Los Angeles. The organization got here after winning the NBA championship in 2020.

The Lakers can't even count on him to be the same player he has been in the past.

If James misses more times, the Lakers are more likely to finish ninth or 10th.
