Donald Trump wants you to believe he took a phone cleanse during his presidency.

According to newly revealed internal White House records, a seven-hour and 37 minute gap in Trump's phone logs occurred on January 6, 2021, as his most fervent supporters charged their way through the Capitol building.

The documents were obtained by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa for The Washington Post. The logs show that Trump made at least eight calls in the morning. At 11:17 a.m, Trump's communications went dark. They would stay that way until 6:54 p.m.

The document was turned over to the House committee by the National Archives. The presidential diary revealed in these documents should make up a chronological record of the President's movements, phone calls, trips, briefings, meetings, and activities.

The long call log gap appears to be out of character for a president who made a name for himself as a prolific user of social media.

In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Woodward said that Trump is a telephone addiction.

Previous reporting suggested that Trump may have made calls to several Republican lawmakers during that time. That incongruity has led House Committee members to begin investigating whether or not Trump used his own device or a burner phone during those hours.

What is a burner phone anyways?

In a statement on Monday, Trump told Woodward and Costa that he had no idea what a burner phone was.

You are not alone if you don't find that answer convincing. A lawmaker with the committee told the Post that they are looking into a possible coverup of White House documents. The members of the committee are trying to determine whether or not Trump and his associates colluded to rig the election.

Gizmodo tried to reach out to Trump for comment, but he didn't reply.

Trump’s Unusual Phone Habits Draw Renewed Scrutiny

During his presidency, Trump's cell phone was the subject of constant inquiry. Trump has maintained that he only used one phone during his presidency. That flies in the face of media reports like the one from the New York Times, which claims that Trump may have used up to three separate phones. At the time, Trump blasted that article for being incorrect.

CNN reported earlier this week that former Trump Administration members claimed that the president used his phones as well as his aides, an unusual practice that makes it difficult to track down who he spoke to and when. In some cases, the CNN report states, Trump would make personal calls from a Secret Service agent's phone, including one to his wife. Other sources said Dan Scavino gave up his phone to the president.

The documents show who the president communicated with during the hours leading up to the riots. According to the Post, Trump had several calls with a former adviser and 2020 election result denier. The president spoke with several people on January 6.

The Vice President told Trump he wouldn't attempt to block Congress from certifying Biden's electoral victory. Extreme Trump supporters would get close to the vice president.

I was skeptical of what the January 6 Committee could do, but they are delivering in a way that I did not expect.
