All-Star center Nathan MacKinnon won't play against the Flames because of an upper-body injury.

MacKinnon is going back to Denver for further evaluation and there is a high level of concern about the injury.

MacKinnon suffered a blow from a fight during the Minnesota Wild game.

Mike Chambers of the Denver Post said he could have hurt his hand in the fight.

The fight occurred early in the third period when Matt Dumba hit Mikko Rantanen. MacKinnon defended his teammate. The two men traded blows to the head, back and neck.
