The Baltimore Ravens signed coach John Harbaugh to a three-year contract extension.
The extension puts Harbaugh under contract with the Ravens for another ten years and is a strong vote of confidence in Harbaugh after the team finished last in the league.
Harbaugh signed a four-year deal in January of 2019. The sides were close to a new contract, according to a source.
No interest in having him do something to me. It is not fair to John. It is kind of interesting. I don't feel like I'm signing up the same guy. I think that is a compliment to him. As the years go on, I feel like there is a rebirth in John. Things that mattered to him are no longer important. I am thrilled to have a guy that is going to be going into his 15th year. I'm pretty pleased with it.
Harbaugh has been a Baltimore Ravens coach for 15 years, making him the third-longest tenure among active coaches. Bill and Mike have been with their teams for a long time.
Harbaugh has led the Ravens to the playoffs nine times. Harbaugh and Joe Flacco led Baltimore to a Super Bowl title. Harbaugh became the only Ravens coach to win the Associated Press' NFL Coach of the Year award after going all-in on Lamar Jackson and creating an offense tailored for him.
Harbaugh was in the midst of one of his best coaching jobs last year, helping the Ravens to the best record in the AFC in Week 12 despite eight starters on season-ending injured reserve. Baltimore lost its last six games, which was the second losing record under Harbaugh.
