Will Smith Apologizes to Chris Rock for Slap at Oscars

Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock for hitting him.

Will did not apologize to Chris during his Best Actor acceptance speech, but now he acknowledges that violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive.

He still tried to justify his anger, saying that jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for him to bear.

Chris and Will did not speak after the slap, contrary to media reports. He decided to apologize to Chris on the social networking site. I was wrong and I was out of line. My actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

Will took a lot of heat for ruining the Oscars for other winners. He apologized to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams family. I regret that my behavior has stained the journey for all of us.
