Musk said on Monday that he has Covid.

The announcement comes after the factory in China faced restrictions that required it to suspend production for four days. China is shutting down the city to control an outbreak of Covid-19. After Covid health orders were implemented, the company suspended production in Shanghai for two days.

On Monday, Musk wrote, "Covid-19 is the virus of Theseus." How many genes change before Covid-19? Musk provided no explanation as to how he was tested, or why he had any reason to doubt the results.

Musk has a history of under-estimating the novel coronaviruses.

In February 2020, Musk said that Covid would be gone by April 2020.

When Covid numbers were rising in California in April 2020, Musk called health restrictions fascist. The CEO of the company kept his plant open despite health orders, but faced no repercussions from the state or county.

In China,Tesla's attitude is much more cooperative. The company strives to fill its epidemic prevention responsibilities and believes that the COVID-19 measures helped lay the foundation for the city's future development.

CNBC asked how this might affect production and deliveries. The company didn't reply to the request for comment.

The China Passenger Car Association has data on the number of electric vehicles delivered to customers by the company. It sells Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in China and beyond to customers in Europe and throughout Asia.

The company is expanding its manufacturing capabilities. It recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new factory in Germany and has received approval for commercial production there.

The grand opening of a new factory in Austin, Texas is planned for April 7.

The invasion of Ukraine has caused supply chain disruptions and caused widespread chip shortages.

Despite the production challenges and Musk's Covid diagnosis, the company announced plans for another stock split.
