A woman in a village that was attacked by Russian soldiers says they stole money and shot her husband in the leg because they wore her clothes.

Zina Kilko told CNN that the Russian soldiers acted out of control as they raided her home in a village close to the eastern suburb of Kyiv.

They wore my woman's hat, my coat, and my boots. They wore our clothes and took our bedding. Kilko told CNN in an emotional interview that he didn't know what they had done with it. They stole our money.

Kilko told CNN that one of the Russian soldiers was drunk and used a stolen shotgun to blow her husband's leg off. Kilko said that two of the Russian soldiers admitted that they did not support Putin.

She went to her husband in the basement of their home for two days before taking him to the hospital where she was interviewed by CNN.

Kilko was being interviewed while her husband was lying in a hospital bed with a leg injury.

Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been trying to encircle Kyiv. It has been met with resistance.

According to The Telegraph, the British Ministry of Defence said on Friday that Russian forces were more than 20 miles away from the capital.

The Ukrainian forces were able to regain control of the ground in Brovary.

The closest Russian troops have to the city center is in the western suburbs of Irpin and Bucha.
