Chris Rock will not file a police report after Will Smith hit him during the Oscars broadcast, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident during the Academy Awards program. The statement was obtained by ITK after the awards show in Los Angeles.
The individual involved has declined to file a police report, which appears to refer to the confrontation between Smith and Rock.
If the involved party wants a police report at a later date, the Los Angeles Police Department will be able to complete an investigative report.
Smith interrupted Rock at the awards show after the comedian made a joke about the actor's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
After being hit, Rock said, "WOW, Will Smith just hit the shit out of me as he walked away."
