Chris Wallace left Fox News last year after nearly two decades, and in his first interview since, he said he no longer felt comfortable with the network's programming.

In an interview with the New York Times published Sunday, Wallace said he spent a lot of time looking for a new job before moving to CNN.

Wallace told the Times that he felt a shift in Fox News coverage after Donald Trump lost the presidential election, and was alarmed by a Tucker Carlson documentary that suggested the Capitol siege was a lie.

I'm fine with conservative and liberal opinions. When people start to question the truth, who won the election? Was January 6 an insurrection?

— Chris Wallace

He told the Times that he could have drawn a line earlier, but he thinks Fox has changed over the last year and a half.

Wallace has a new interview show on CNN that will be on Mondays through Thursdays.
