Donald Trump lowballed the amount of U.S. military aid provided to Ukraine during the Obama-Biden administration and claimed that only he himself in recent history didn't. Not true.

The vice president of the United States made a questionable claim that all of the weapons used in Ukraine came from the Trump administration.

A look at the weekend claims and reality.

Trump said that he was the one who sent the Javelins, not Obama. Obama sent blankets to the rally.

The Obama-Biden administration only sent them meals and blankets.

The amount of aid under Obama and Biden is misrepresented by Trump and Pence.

The Obama administration offered a range of other military and security aid to Ukraine, even though it refused to provide lethal weapons.

By March 2015, the Obama administration had provided more than 120 million dollars in security aid for Ukraine and promised $75 million worth of equipment, according to the Defense Department. The U.S. pledged more than 200 Humvee vehicles.

The U.S. offered aid after Putin gave support to eastern cities.

The Obama administration gave $600 million in security aid to Ukraine.

In the last year of the Obama administration, the U.S. provided military equipment and training to help defend Ukraine against Russian aggression. Congress appropriated $850 million for this initiative from 2016 to 2019.

The Trump administration agreed to sell $47 million in Javelins after giving lethal aid to Ukraine.

Two years later, Trump delayed the release of congressionally approved security assistance for Ukraine as part of an effort to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, his political rival. The matter was part of the trial.

There is a

In fact, I am the only president of the 21st century who did not see Russia invade any other country.

Trump is not the only one.

During George W. Bush's second term, Putin invaded Georgia, which he did when he was Russia's president from 2000 to 2008. He was on Obama's watch when he moved in on Ukraine. It is true that Putin did not invade a country during Trump's term.

Bill Clinton did not see an invasion by Putin into another country. Chechnya is a region of Russia, not a country, despite Russia attacking it twice in the 1990s.

There is a

The Biden administration suspended the Ukrainian soldiers because they were using the arms that the administration gave them.

That is a stretch. The Javelins that the U.S. gave to the Ukrainians during the Trump years would not be on the shelf now that the war is over. The Ukrainians did not receive anti-aircraft systems from Trump.

The total amount of military aid for Ukraine since Biden took office is about $2 billion. Some of the assistance, which was drawn from $13.6 billion in military and humanitarian assistance recently approved by Congress to help Ukraine and its neighbors, has included a number of lethal weapons.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that the West should give his country warplanes and air defense missiles because they are necessary for its freedom.
