Moore will have surgery this week after he tore his right Achilles.
Moore was hurt in the final minute of the Elite Eight win over Houston. He's out for a long time.
This is a tough blow for all of us, not just because of the great player, but because of what he means to us as teammates and coaches. He helps us in many ways. He is one of the toughest rebound guards we have had, and he guards the best scorer every game.
We look forward to the day when we see him back on the court healthy, because of his work ethic and dedication.
The Final Four will be played on Saturday.
Moore had to be helped off the court after he slipped while driving to the lane with 35 seconds left in the game. His teammates came to see him at the end of the bench after the final buzzer, but he didn't take part in the postgame celebrations.
Moore went to the locker room on crutches.
After Saturday's game, the star guard said that he had been in that position before. We do not know what the injury is. He needs to be checked. I don't want to see him alone. He is one of our best offensive players and always guards the best player on the floor, and he will do anything for any one of our guys on either end of the floor.
A lot of our guys ran to him because we are not in a position to do without him. We wanted to go over to him and thank him for what he does for us.
Samuels said he remembered the injury to Gillespie, who tore a ligament in his knee last March.
Samuels said that he knew something wasn't right when it happened to Collin last.
Moore had eight points and two assists in 37 minutes against Houston. He is second on the team in points and assists and third in rebound, and he earned second-team All-Big East honors. He scored 21 points in the first-round win over Delaware and 15 points in the Sweet 16 victory over Michigan, which earned him a spot on the All-South Region Team.
Daniels will start in Moore's place for the Final Four. Daniels had 12 points in 35 minutes. He is shooting 37.7% from 3-point range this season.
The biggest impact will be felt on the bench. Chris Arcidiacono and BryanAntoine will get more minutes. Arcidiacono has played six minutes in the past three games, whileAntoine has played eight minutes in the past two games.
