Over the years, Mexico has become a very popular country for visitors; especially for those from the United States. In fact, the World Tourism Organization says that Mexico is the sixth-most visited country in the world, and second in the Americas.

Mexico has a lot of UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as several famous works of modern public and private architecture. The country has colonial cities, nature reserves and beach resorts. Mexico's unique culture and warm climate are attractive to tourists. Over the past several decades, more and more people have traveled to Mexico.

Mexico City's Benito Juarez Airport had become too crowded with so many visitors. Mexico City Texcoco Airport was announced in order to make things better. It was supposed to be a replacement for the older airport. After it was decided that the new airport should be built at a different location, the project was canceled.

Felipe is at the International Airport.

Felipe Ángeles International Airport opened on March 21, 2022. Instead of replacing MEX, it is meant to absorb some of its congestion, with a focus on low-cost and cargo airlines.

It has some issues. Lots of them.

NLU is nowhere near Mexico. It's not even close to Mexico City. If you go by car, it's about 28 miles north-northwest of the center of Mexico City. The highways between NLU and MEX are still under construction. Only local roads are left. If you use aGPS, some of those are still dirt roads.

A planned rail link to connect the airport with the capital's suburban train network isn't scheduled to be completed until the second half of the century.

The traffic in Mexico City is crazy. The Mexican President wanted to show that a person could drive from the city to the airport in 40 minutes. He left for the inauguration ceremony at 5 am on a national holiday to make sure he could prove his point. What a guy? An online news company took a taxi from Mexico City to the airport and it took nearly two hours. A woman who lives in Mexico City made the trek in four hours.

Greaaaaat!

It is not currently available at NLU. The Mexican unit of the ride-sharing giant said in a statement that it hopes to offer service in the near future. There is a shortage of transportation to/from this airport that is multiple miles and hours from town.

Mexican President López Obrador wants people to travel to NLU.

An air taxi.

The president was quoted in mexicobusiness.news as saying that there will be taxis for everyone. Private concessions will provide the services. Three companies have already requested concessions, which will allow them to operate with two helicopters.

I'm sure that will work out well.

The airport may have opened this week, but it still hasn't been certified by Mexico's Federal Agency of Civil Aviation as meeting safety standards set by the International Air Transport Association and the International Civil Aviation Organization. Someone must have forgotten to do it in time, according to an airport infrastructure specialist.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

Major international airlines don't register to fly to the new airport because they wouldn't be covered by their insurance in the event of an accident. Only one airline from Venezuela has taken a chance on international flights.

The new international airport only has one international flight so far. The willingness of American, Delta and United to fly to NLU is questionable. American is currently operating up to 13 daily flights between the United States and Mexico. We don't have any changes to share at this time.

There aren't any amenities at NLU. Starbucks is the only company that serves food and coffee in the entire airport. There were no convenience stores where people could get a snack to tide them over. If they were waiting for a ride that they weren't sure would ever come, they could eat.

Felipe International Airport is supposed to absorb some of the congestion of Mexico, unlike Texcoco Airport, which was supposed to take the place of Benito Juarez Airport. NLU was supposed to have 20 million passengers per year. The original plan was for 28 gates at the airport. It has 14.

Alright then. Is it possible to say cluster?

This isn't the first project under Mexican President Andrn Lf3pez Obrador that has had issues. He had a plan for a tourist train in the peninsula. Engineers discovered they couldn't build an elevated stretch along the Caribbean coast when construction on the Maya Train tourist project started. The only highway in the region would be closed. That would be bad. They started running through the jungle.

There is no comprehensive environmental impact statement. There is no feasibility plan. Do it. Nobody knows how many tourists will use it.

Awesomesauce.

For now, the new airport? It is a mess. There are only a few flights from Felipe Angeles right now, with the exception of Volaris, Viva Aerobus and Aeromexico.

Vaya con Dios. For reals.

The name of the airport was changed. Las Vegas opened in 1948 and was already one of the most popular vacation spots in the country. Fast forward to seventy-something.

In airports.

More places say they are reopening the world after the coronaviruses. The good news is from South Africa. Travelers from the United States were a priority when the gates to tourism were reopened on September 19th. There will be flights from Spirit Airlines.

In travel.

The American Express Platinum card is changing from being for the jet-setting crowd to a lifestyle card with a number of non- travel benefits. The annual fee for the personal Platinum card is $695. The card is marketed to people who can afford luxury items.
