Will Hurd, a former Republican congressman from Texas, said on Sunday that the United States should give Ukraine as much weaponry as they can, as they fight back against Russian forces that have launched devastating attacks in their country.
During an appearance on CBS's "Face the Nation", the former CIA undercover officer was asked how his intelligence background informs him about the current state of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
When it comes to our foreign policy, we want our friends to love us and our adversaries to fear us. Our enemies, the Russians, are launching cruise missiles into the western part of Ukraine because they are not afraid that we will respond.
We need to be doing more. I think we can help save lives.

When asked by Dickerson about how the United States could be more helpful, he said that the government should give Ukraine more weapons. Some US lawmakers have praised the idea of transferring MiG-29 fighter jets from Western allies to Ukraine, but it has not been implemented as an official policy.
He thinks we should give them as much weaponry as we can. Is 20 MiGs enough to do anything?
Everybody underestimated the Ukrainians before this happened. Who knows what they will be able to do with those tools? We have to be prepared to help prevent a loss of life.
Zelenskyy asked NATO allies to send planes and tanks to help in the fight against Russian forces.
The Pentagon rejected a plan from Poland to transfer fighter jets to the US.
The proposal raises serious concerns for the entire NATO alliance, according to Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
