Nashville, Tennessee. Country music singer and songwriter Jeff Carson, who scored hits with "Not On Your Love" and "The Car" before becoming a police officer, has died. He was 58. Jeremy Westby of 2911 Media said that Carson died of a heart attack. Westby said in a news release that Jeffrey Lee Herndon was born in 1963. In Rogers, Arkansas, he formed a band and wrote songs before moving to Missouri where he played in a band.
