Mignon du Preez made an unconquered 52 to help South Africa eliminate India in a last-ball thriller and set up a Women's World Cup semi-final against England.
South Africa beat India 274-7 with the final ball of their 50 overs, guaranteeing them a semi-final spot.
Du Preez was caught off the ball by Deepti. She scored the winning run from the final ball.
The Windies will play Australia in the other semi-final if India fails to beat West Indies.
The West Indies uploaded footage of the players celebrating.
South Africa completed the second-highest successful run chase in Women's World Cup history in reaching 275-7 to win by three runs.
Australia beat India in the highest run chase in the history of the tournament eight days earlier, and India could be forgiven for feeling sorry for themselves.
Even though she was close to being dismissed with the last ball, Du Preez was able to take the late praise.
Du Preez said that he has been fortunate as the girls have supported him.
I haven't had the best start to the tournament with the bat but to be able to do it for us today is very special. It means the world. It has been a tough few weeks. I'll take that any day of the week, getting the momentum right into the semi-final.

India's Mithali Raj made 68 but her side could not see out the closing stages as they did in the final against England.
Raj said that he felt that the total of 275 was a good one, coming from where the bowlers have defended in the past.
I think it was good for the sport because it went to the last ball. I am proud of the girls as they made a comeback into the tournament despite losing some games.
South Africa will have the chance to reach a first final after suffering semi-final losses in 2000 and 2017.
