Sean Penn supports Amy Schumer's idea of having Zelensky beam in to the Oscars ceremony, and says if it doesn't happen, the show should be boycotted. The award-winning actor, who has two statuettes of his own, made the bold suggestion Saturday during an interview on CNN, which was looking into the humanitarian work he and his crew are doing in Europe as they work to offer relief and aid to fleeing Ukrainians. The anchor asked the guy what he wanted to see from the Academy Awards, and he didn't hold back. Check it out. Sean supports the idea of having Zelensky and other Ukrainian leaders make an appearance during the broadcast, saying there is nothing more important that Hollywood could do in a time like this. He suggests that the war should be left out of shows like this because some people think politics should be left out. Sean says that he has heard that the producers of the Oscars have decided not to feature Zelensky, something Schumer mentioned in a recent interview. He encourages everyone who is nominated to not attend the Oscars if Zelensky is not in the show, and even says he would be willing to protest his own hardware.
