The wide receiver is looking for a big contract on the open market.
According to Pro FootballTalk's Mike Florio, on Saturday, he switched agents from Klutch Sports tooosevelt Barnes and Jovan Barnes in order to find a deal that will pay him around $20
The 29-year-old was released by the Cleveland Browns this month after four seasons with the organization.
After four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, where he earned three Pro Bowl berths, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns prior to the season. He was named a Pro Bowler in each of his first two seasons in Cleveland, but his production dipped over the past two seasons.
At the time, his lowest statistical output since his first season, was in 2020, when he finished with 72 catches for 840 yards and three scores.
A knee injury cost him five games and limited him in others last season as things got worse for him.
Baker Mayfield was hampered by an injury to his non-throwing shoulder for most of the season.
The career lows for Landry were 52 catches for 570 yards and two scores.
When healthy, he is capable of being a high-volume receiver and chain mover, as evidenced by his three career 1,000-yard seasons and two 100 catch seasons.
Over the course of eight NFL seasons, he has caught 688 passes for 7,598 yards and 37 touchdown.
In free agency, he could only get anything close to $20 million per season. No free-agent wideout has reached that level this year.
Christian Kirk got the biggest contract among free-agent receivers at $18 million per season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is followed by Allen Robinson II at over 15 million dollars per year.
The two highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL are Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill.
After getting traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins, Hill signed a contract that will pay him $30 million annually, while Adams will now be paid $28 million per year after being traded from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The sixth-highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL is LaRon Landry, who would be paid $20 million per season.
It is difficult to see how he would be able to get that level of compensation given his injury issues last season and the fact that he has never been a truly elite receiver.
