McConnell has made it known that he will vote against confirmation of the Supreme Court nominee because she is black.

McConnell's announcement was not a surprise as he is the GOP leader in the Senate. On March 24, McConnell claimed that his decision was nonpartisan. Some say it could be because of another bias.

McConnell went into the Senate's consideration of Judge Jackson's nomination with an open mind.

I cannot and will not support Judge Jackson for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court after studying her record and watching her performance this week.

Jackson was questioned about her voting record and sentencing practices during the confirmation hearings. Jackson pointed out that critical race theory does not relate to her work as a judge.

Cruz asked Jackson if she thinks babies are racist. Jackson was applauded for her resilience and grace by a New Jersey senator. He brought the judge to tears as he spoke about her nomination.

Booker said that he saw his ancestors and theirs. You are deserving. You are an American.

On the last day of the confirmation hearings, McConnell voiced his opposition on the Senate floor, citing Jackson's noncommittal replies about whether she would support a plan to add four seats to the bench. The Supreme Court has nine justices. The proper role of a judge is beyond the question.

McConnell said he assumed this would be an easy game for Judge Jackson. She testified she doesn't share her view on the matter.

Legislation is the only way to expand the court. Some Democrats want the change.

McConnell was upset with Jackson's lack of published lower court opinions. Jackson, who has only been on the appeals court for a year, has published two, while other recent nominees have published hundreds.

More than 6,000 people responded to McConnell's message. It was liked by more than 50,000 people. A number of people accused the Republican of lying. Several people said they were not surprised by his decision.

McConnell led Senate Republicans to block President Barrack Obama's pick for the Supreme Court without first holding hearings.

McConnell argued that it was too close to the election to continue. Pundits think McConnell didn't want the president to nominate a liberal.

Less than two months before the 2020 presidential election, McConnell speeded up the confirmation of former President Donald Trump's pick.

Racist factors were suggested to be a factor. More than a dozen users responded to McConnell with a picture of him in front of a Confederate flag. The photo was taken at a Sons of Confederate Veterans event.

Senate Democrats are hoping for a full vote on Jackson's confirmation next month. She needs at least 51 votes to be approved for the bench. There are 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans in the U.S. Senate, and Vice President Harris has the tie-breaking vote.

Political pundits said that Jackson will get all of the Democrat vote after West Virginia Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin said on March 25 that he would vote for Jackson.

  • Democratic Senator Joe Manchin said on Friday that he would vote to confirm the Supreme Court nominee, signaling that she will have the votes to overcome Republican opposition. The Democrats are united in their support of President Joe Biden's nominee to be the first black woman on the Supreme Court. Even if no Republicans vote for her, Jackson would get the job even if the Senate splits along party lines.

  • The path for President Joe Biden's historic nominee to be confirmed is likely to be cleared by Sen. Joe Manchin, who plans to vote for Judge Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court.
