Utah Senate President J. Stuart Adams said in a statement on Tuesday thatbiological boys are built differently than girls.

Adams said that they must work to preserve the integrity of women's sports and ensure it remains fair and safe for all. We feel it is important to make decisions now that protect athletes and ensure women are not left out of their sport.

The legislation was defended by Rep. Birkeland. Birkeland said on the Straight Talk With Kim and Carolyn show that when her team plays trans athletes, they are off mentally.

The girls feel guilty that they are unhappy that they are here. She said that they had seen it and the girls were like, "This isn't right." It is not fair. We don't think we should have to play when it isn't fair.

Birkeland didn't respond to the request for comment.

Sam Ames is the director of advocacy and government affairs at theTrevor Project, a suicide prevention and mental health organization for LGBTQ youth.

The bill focuses on a problem of fairness in school sports that doesn't exist, but its negative impacts on the mental health and well-being of trans and nonbinary youth are very real.

Utah could lose out on next year's NBA All-Star Game if the bill is passed. The Utah Jazz owner expressed his opposition to the bill on the social networking site.

The bill was rushed, flawed, and won't hold up over time.

The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is in the US. TheTrevor Project provides help and suicide-prevention resources for LGBTQ youth. Befrienders Worldwide has other international suicide helplines.
