Shaheen Holloway still numb after Saint Peter's historic win (1:40)

The coach of Saint Peter's describes how his team became the first No. 15 seed to reach the Elite Eight. (1:40)

Few things unite New Jersey more than mentioning Wawa, going down the shore or the phrase "20 regular, cash."

Even if their March Madness appearance lasts for only a few more days, you can add the Saint Peter's Peacocks to that list.

The team made its first Sweet 16 appearance in Philadelphia, just 90 miles from its home arena, and faced 3-seed Purdue in the East Region semifinal.

The first 15-seed to make the Elite Eight was the Peacocks.

Saint Peter's followed up its opening win over Kentucky with a 70-60 victory against Murray State last weekend, becoming the third 15-seed to reach the Sweet 16.

The Peacocks are enjoying being the Cinderella team in the tournament and are happy about it. This is a look at their week.

The Peacocks received a compliment.

After becoming the first 16-seed to beat a 1-seed in March Madness, the UMBC Retrievers became one of the most well-known teams.

One of the perks of defeating the No. 2 seed is getting verified on social media. The Peacocks were blue-check official less than 24 hours after the big win. An introduction thread of the team includes a mustache, a set of twins, an aspiring actor and many more.

Gonna go ahead and bump this for our new followers from overnight

The social status of head coach Shaheen Holloway and guard Doug Edert has grown. Since the win over Kentucky, he has averaged over 600 new followers a day. Edert, who got an NIL deal with Buffalo Wild Wings, has been following a lot of people.

Are you aware of the saying about birds of a feather? The spirit squad from Saint Peter's and the NBCUniversal streaming service came together.

What?! Birds of a feather MUST flock together. Pack your bags Spirit Squad. We're getting you to the game. Can you be ready in...a few hours?! 🏃‍♀️💨 We're making this happen. #PeacockProud https://t.co/dIuK357DmE

Kentucky had a hard time competing with New Jersey in basketball. Both the second- and seventh-seeded Racers fell to Saint Peter's.

When asked about how his team matches up against bigger teams, the Queens, New York, native had a very fitting response that has made its way onto local billboards.

I have guys from New Jersey and New York City. You think we are scared of anything?

"You think we're worried about guys trying to muscle us? WE do that." 💪
