15-seed Saint Peter's continues Cinderella run with historic win vs. Purdue (0:41)

The first 15-seed to ever advance to the Elite Eight in NCAA tournament history was Saint Peter's. (0:41)

10:22 PM ET

The Saint Peter's Peacocks continued their Cinderella run in the NCAA tournament, defeating the Boilermakers to advance to their first-ever Elite Eight.

The Boilermakers were knocked off by the coach's squad behind 14 points from Daryl Banks III. Guard Doug Edert scored 10 points from the bench. The key difference in the game was the number of turnovers. The largest upset in Sweet 16 history was tied by the Peacocks, who were the first 15-seed to make the Elite Eight.

Saint Peter's is the only team to win multiple games as a double-digit favorite in an NCAA tournament since the tournament expanded in 1985. The first team from New Jersey to reach the Elite Eight since 1991 is the Peacocks.

After the game, a lot of stars and other Cinderella teams offered their thoughts on Saint Peter's run on social media.
