  • Lauren has been documenting her pregnancies on social media.

  • She used her husband's frozen sperm to have a child after he died of a brain tumor.

  • Lauren shared her story on the Pregnantish show.

Lauren was going to be a single mom eventually. She was hoping her husband would be able to see their child before he died.

Lauren, who is 33, said on the show that the couple always dreamed of having more children if they had the time.

At the end of the year, they decided to start the sperm freezing process in order to have a baby before Chris started his treatment. His care was disrupted by the Pandemic.

Nine months after Chris died, Lauren used his sperm to have a baby. The process is lonely but she feels like her husband is with her.

Lauren and her late husband always wanted to have children

She said on the show that Chris and McGregor had known each other since childhood, and they reconnected after his mom died.

She said that Chris had a son from a previous relationship. The new couple talked about having children of their own someday, but they put their plans on hold when Chris was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Chris had the option of freezing his sperm when he was going to start treatment for cancer. She was glad they banked some just in case after Chris came back four times stronger after treatment.

It was something we never thought we would need, but it has put me in a good position.

The couple discussed the possibility that the child would grow up without Chris, and they chose names together for the little person that they would create for both of them.

She started IVF as soon as she was allowed

After Chris died, the clinic had a wait of nine months. She was pregnant after the first cycle.

She waited to tell her stepson when she was 12 weeks pregnant.

She said that she didn't want to put the pressure of another loss in his life or the pressure of him being worried about what journey she was going on.

When she told him about his sibling, he thanked her for giving him a piece of his dad.

It was a dream of ours to expand our family, and I suppose for some people, their road of grief is different.

She said later in the episode that she was going to have a child with Chris.

As she enters her third trimester, she plans to document the rest of her labor on her social media accounts. You can hear the rest of her story on Friday.
