Triple H told Stephen A. Smith on Friday that he would not be in the ring again.

There were moments when he was unsure if he would make it after he went into heart failure following a bout with viral pneumonia. Levesque is a 14-time world champion.

Levesque, who is also an executive vice president with World Wrestling Entertainment, said that he will never wrestle again.

Levesque was a member of the group D-Generation X and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. One of the most successful wrestlers of the 2000s was a New Hampshire native.

Levesque told First Take that his wife noticed he was coughing up blood when he was suffering from viral pneumonia. Doctors discovered fluid in his lungs and heart when he went to the hospital.

Levesque said doctors told him his heart was working at a fraction of full strength and he was in a bad state of heart failure.

Levesque said he was nose-diving at the 1-yard line where he didn't want to be. Do you wake up from this? That makes you think differently and is difficult to swallow.

His last match was in Tokyo on June 29, 2019. His last televised match was against Randy Orton in Saudi Arabia.

The last match Levesque competed in was a win over Dave Bautista.

Levesque, the head of the promotion's developmental brand, was recently noted as being a WWE executive.
