Two teenagers who helped bring a runaway school bus to a stop and called for help have been invited to the New England Patriots season opener.
The invitation was delivered by the team owner himself during a call with the Collins brothers, who stepped in when the bus driver suffered a fatal medical event in Topsham.
"You guys are unbelievable," he said Tuesday. You guys called an audible on that bus.
Fourteen middle and high school students were on the bus. A student at Mount Aararat High School is credited with steering the bus to a stop. His brother, Seamus, a student at Mount Ararat Middle School, called for help. Others were helped by rendering aid.
The students were credited by the police chief for saving lives.
The driver died at the hospital, according to Maine School Administrative District 75.
