Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was released from the hospital Friday, a week after he was admitted with an illness.
According to the court, Thomas was treated with antibiotics at a hospital in Washington, D.C., after he experienced flu-like symptoms.
The justice's condition was disclosed by a spokeswoman on Sunday night, two days after he was admitted.
Between Sunday night and Friday morning, the court did not respond to requests for additional information. The only news from the court during that time was from Justice Stephen Breyer, who was questioned outside a restaurant in D.C. on Wednesday.
I think he's fine, I said that to Thomas.
Thomas is the longest-serving justice on the high court, and the second-oldest, behind the 83-year-old Breyer.
Thomas didn't take part in oral arguments on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Chief Justice John Roberts announced at the start of the proceedings that Thomas was unable to be present today but would participate in consideration and decision of the cases based on court briefs and transcripts of the arguments.
