The FA will give away 100 buses for the FA Cup semi-finals.

Fans of both cities want the game moved because there are no direct trains from the North West to London on Easter Weekend.

The FA will give free travel to up to 5,000 fans from Manchester City and Liverpool for the game in London on April 16.

A number of free return bus services will be provided for supporters travelling to watch Man City play West Ham in the Women's FA Cup semi-finals on the same day.

The FA is pleased to announce that a limited number of free return bus services will be provided for the FA Cup Semi Finals between Manchester City andLiverpool on April 16th to support fans from the North West.

The FA will charter 100 buses from the two stadiums to Wembley Stadium. This will allow up to 5,000 fans from Manchester City andLiverpool to travel to Wembley Stadium for the Semi Final without paying a fee.

The FA is working with its partners at National Highways to ensure that the road networks are running as efficiently as possible over the Easter period. Hundreds of miles of unessential roadworks will be put on hold to help supporters enjoy the occasion and enhance their journeys, and these motorists are encouraged to make sure that their vehicles are roadworthy before setting off.

FA rejects calls for venue change

The FA has rejected calls from two prominent North West politicians for the FA Cup semi-finals to be moved away from Wembley.

The last-four clash between the two clubs will take place in London over the Easter weekend.

The mayors of Greater Manchester and the Liverpool city region wrote a letter to the FA asking for a rethink and offering to help facilitate a venue change. They say fans have been put in an unfair position, facing excessive cost and hassle.

Without quick, direct trains, many people will have no choice but to drive, fly, or book overnight accommodations.

When you factor in the rising costs of fuel, it is clear that supporters of both clubs attending this game will face excessive cost and hassle - and that is before any environmental impact is considered.

Logistical and safety considerations are included. The M6 is likely to be stretched to capacity by bank holiday traffic, with thousands of fans making the long journey south. A single accident could cause the motorway to be brought to a standstill and fans missing the kick-off.

Over the last year, we have heard the slogan " football without fans is nothing" many times. Those words will be meaningless to many if this decision is left to stand and people are priced out of the game or unable to attend for other reasons.

We believe the most obvious solution is to move the game to a more accessible stadium and offer to work with you to make that happen.
