The Republican's questioning of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson led to a stand out by Tennessee U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn.

Others were happy to criticize a private school's choice of books, or to demand that the judge rate her religiousness on a scale of one to ten.

Senator Blackburn asked Judge Jackson to define woman.

This is a simple question that requires a simple answer.

It’s a major red flag that a Supreme Court nominee backed by the far left refuses to define the word “woman.” https://t.co/5IjhmmshG9

Senator Marsha Blackburn posted on March 23, 2022.

A case about the definition of woman under the law might soon reach the Supreme Court, so Judge Jackson declined to answer.

My experience in school shows that history hurts children.

The Republican position would be ready. The Fourteenth and Fifteenth amendments did not include women in giving certain men the vote.

The originalist position needs to be turned to the common law.

In the 18th century and throughout much of the 19th century, a married woman was defined by the common law doctrine of coverture, which meant that they were one person.

If a future case is decided by the Court on the basis of originalism, there will be no woman to define.

Blackburn's narrative on critical race theory in schools false

Tennesseans deserve a better senator. Her questioning of Judge Jackson was disrespectful and hypocritical as she pushed her own agenda.

The misrepresentation of what is being taught in public schools was harmful.

Critical race theory and The 1619 Project are not being taught in public schools in Tennessee.

Marsha attacked a qualified woman by demanding she define what a woman is.

Judge Jackson was respectful in answering all the ridiculous questions that were thrown at her by the people of our great country.

Let's hope she apologizes to Judge Jackson for the out of context quotes her staff assembled for her.

Why Jackson was wise not to answer 'woman' question

Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson dodged a land mine when she refused to answer a senator's question. Her answer would be used in any litigation.

The issue of her confirmation to the high court would dominate the headlines.

Blackburn made position known on judge clearly

I'm proud to live in a democracy and I'm a Tennessean. It is important for citizens to make their opinions known to those who will represent them.

I watched the confirmation hearings for Judge Jackson on C-Span.

The opening statements were made by the leadership of the committee, members of the committee and the nominee.

The senator had an unabashed bias before she even asked Judge Jackson her first question. The eruption of the War in Ukraine was the reason why the nomination of Biden was ill- timed.

The Senator proclaimed that he would not hold this against the Nominee. The Senator has a responsibility to give any candidate a fair hearing.

The opening statement was inflammatory political at its worst. It would have been laughable if it weren't so serious. She thought the judge was soft on crime. The family of Judge Jackson was told about the honor of her nomination.

There is no need for a confirmation hearing for Senator Blackburn. A wise person is able to express their beliefs and convictions.

Jackson rises above senators’ ‘medieval inquisition’

I've been watching the confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court Justice nominee, who is the first black woman to ever be nominated. Due to the intense political divide in our country, it has at times been an enlightening experience but also a torturous one, where Democrats are likely to praise and defend Judge Brown Jackson while Republicans attack her relentlessly.

Senator Marsha Blackburn

It has been like this before. The history books show that from 1789-1941, seven justices were nominated and confirmed on the same day. Over the past fifty years, the Supreme Court confirmation hearings have been a more recent development.

The SCOTUS nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson is outstanding.

I have read history books and watched movies dramatizing them, and I think that some of the antics of Republican senators like Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Josh Hawley remind me of the way these were.

The senators should be ashamed of the way they have acted, but they are not and would probably say that Democrats have behaved the same way in the past.

The smartest person in the room is Judge Brown Jackson.
