According to a report byHarper's Bazaar, she is adamant that she was never a victim of abuse like many other women in Hollywood who have spoken out about their negative experiences on TV and movie sets.

After many years in the spotlight and a career defined by high-profile roles that have led to Oscars nominations and two wins, Renee Zellweger toldHarper's Bazaar that she took on her new role as convicted murderer Pam Hupp in NBC's limited series.

Hupp's story was familiar to Zellweger. Hupp was a suburban housewife living in Missouri when her friend Elizabeth was killed. Hupp helped prosecutors convince a jury to convict Russ for the crime. Hupp became the primary suspect after he was released from prison.

Everybody feels like I know her. I know that person who looks like your next-door neighbor or the lady who would babysit you, and they make some choices that are, to put it kindly, illegal.
