As the firm looks to introduce NFTs to its Gen-Z users, it has acquired India's Gambit.

Piyush Shah, co-founder of InMobi Group and COO of Glance, confirmed the acquisition but refused to give any financial terms of the deal. He said in an interview that the acquisition will help the firm to bring live game shows and NFT-based incentivisation to its users.

Glance partners with phone makers to bring media, entertainment and news content to users, and gaming is the latest focus. The startup with over 400 million devices piloted casual games on its platform last year and immediately found acceptance among users.

Glance, which has acquired younger firms in recent years, is known to acquire small firms and significantly scale their offerings.

Almost 10 million people watch live game streaming on Glance every month. Shah said that their idea was how to bring live game shows to the platform.

He said that NFTs will give users a lot of benefits, including the ability to build strong character in games.

He wouldn't reveal which blockchain the startup is using to launch NFTs and the players it intends to partner with, noting that the web3 push of Glance is still in its early days. Glance has been evaluating the space for nine months.

He said that the startup would partner with other gaming firms. The platform will allow creators, streamers and developers to monetize through assets and NFT-based game creation. lance is avoiding bringing fantasy sports offerings of six-year-old Gambit, which operates Nostragamus, citing local regulation in India.

With Glance and Gambit's combined strengths and our belief that there is a game for every person, we envision doubling the number of monthly active users on Glance Games in the next year.

The latest firm from India to make a push into web3 is Glance, valued at about $1.7 billion.

A person familiar with the matter says Dream11 is in talks to acquire up to 40% of Rario. The Economic Times of India reported some details of the deal. FanCraze, which maintains an exclusive partnership with theICC, said earlier this week that it had raised $100 million in a funding round.
