The New York Times reported that one of the two top prosecutors who left the Manhattan district attorney's office last month believes that Donald Trump is guilty of a lot of felonies.

The prosecutor who has been investigating Mr. Trump said in his resignation letter that he had no doubt that Mr. Trump committed crimes.

The two senior prosecutors who were leading the criminal investigation into the Trump Organization resigned in February after the new district attorney expressed doubts about moving forward with a case against the former president.

According to The Times, Pomerantz said in his resignation letter that it would be a grave failure of justice to not hold Trump accountable for his actions.

According to the report, Pomerantz and Dunne were going to charge Trump with a felony in New York.

The criminal investigation has been thrown into disarray by Bragg's reluctance to pursue a criminal case against Trump and the subsequent resignations of Pomerantz and Dunne.

Insider was told that the investigation is ongoing and we can't comment further.

The resignation letters of Pomerantz and Dunne were kept out of the public eye.

The records official told Insider that the letters reflect internal deliberations and opinions about an ongoing investigation.

The Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg were indicted on 15 felony counts. Trump has not been charged with a crime.

The first round of charges focused on alleged tax-evasion schemes. The investigation shifted to focus on whether the Trump Organization inflated or deflated the value of assets for loan and tax purposes.

The investigation by the district attorney found that Trump may have overstated his financial net worth when applying for loans. His accounting firm, Mazars USA, cut ties with him earlier in February after determining that ten years of his financial statements should no longer be relied on.
