In January, the Supreme Court rejected former President Donald Trump's bid to block the release of some presidential records to the House committee investigating the Capitol riot.

Clarence Thomas dissented.

The justice gave no explanation for why he would have approved the request.

The Washington Post reported that the justice's wife, Virginia Thomas, sent multiple text messages to the former White House chief of staff, urging him to overturn the decision.

In a message from November 6, 2020, Ginni Thomas said that it takes time for the army who is gathering for his back.

The outlet reported that all of the 29 texts between Thomas and Meadows were part of the evidence the January 6 panel is investigating.

CNN reported Thursday that the committee had obtained the texts. The former White House chief of staff turned over thousands of text messages before he stopped cooperating with the panel.

Ahead of the Supreme Court's order on Trump's White House documents, Meadows filed a supporting brief in favor of blocking the release of documents.

In the past few months, she has come under fire for her alleged ties to the organizers of the rally that preceded the attack. She admitted to attending the "Stop the Steal" rally but said she got cold and left before Trump spoke.

Her comments came after multiple news outlets reported that she was connected to January 6 rally organizers and served on the board of a conservative group.

Despite her husband's role on the nation's highest court, Ginni Thomas has been an active participant in partisan politics. She said in a recent interview that the couple has their own careers and ideas, as well as their own opinions.

She said that Clarence doesn't discuss his work with her, and that she doesn't involve him in her work.
