The first Formula One race in Las Vegas will take place in November of 2023.
F1 is in talks with Las Vegas and Nevada officials to hold an annual race around the Las Vegas Strip. The race will be announced soon.
Vegas will be held on Thanksgiving weekend, according to a report.
It will be the third US-based race on the F1 circuit. A new event in Miami will debut in May, and Austin, Texas, has hosted a race since 2012.
F1 executives have shown interest in New York as a fourth American venue.
Africa is the only continent without an F1 race yet.
The sport has enjoyed growing popularity in the U.S., in part due to a docuseries produced in collaboration with F1 called "Formula 1: Drive to Survive."
There was a temporary track built in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas in 1981 and 1984 for an F1 race.
