Ja Morant, the star point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, will be reexamined in two weeks as he recovers from a knee injury.

Injuries have been a problem for Morant. He has missed 17 games due to a knee injury, but most of them came early in the year.

Morant missed the Memphis win over the Indiana Pacers with a back issue. It is a minor thing, that he injured during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Morant missed the last three games with an illness. Without him, the Grizzlies went 15-2 in his absence.

Morant has been the driving force behind the rise of Memphis. He is on pace to set career highs in scoring average (28.6 points per game), rebound (5.7), field- goal percentage (49.3) and three-point percentage (34.0).

The Grizzlies are the second seed in the west and have a 50-23 record. They have a five-game lead over the Dallas Mavericks.

If Morant is healthy, the Grizzlies can beat any team in the NBA. Tyus Jones will be the starting point guard for the time being.
