What happened to the Jedi after Return of the Jedi? Over the past few years, we have learned bits and pieces of the story, such as a baby apprentice here, a villainous nephew there, self-imposed exile, etc.

The excerpt from Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith by Adam Christopher was recently posted on the official Star Wars website. Lando Calrissian mentions to Rey and the team in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that they need to search for the lost Sith planet of Exegol. The novel will tell that story, but this excerpt is more than that.

Adam Christopher wrote a longer excerpt from Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith. We will reveal the reunion below.

The taste in his mouth got stronger as he took another breath. His eyes were drying out, the atmosphere was desiccated, and the whole place was old.

He knew where he was. He had been here a lot recently, this nightmare landscape of his visions.

He knew its name.

The hidden world of Sith was only whispered about in ancient texts. The place is reachable with a way finder.

Is that by meditation? The ground was real under his feet as he took a step forward. He looked at the horizon and walked a small circle. The plain was revealed to be featureless and dead by the lighting of the farther reaches.

The same place as his visions, but this felt different.

This felt real.

Is it possible that he was transported? His mind was racing along with his heart. He didn't know the full extent of the seeing stone's powers. He had researched the place for a long time, but he had never used the stone for its ancient purpose. He knew that he had become a powerful Jedi and that he still had a lot to offer.

Did he do it? He had what was left of the holocron and the kyber crystals. Is there enough of the data core left for the seeing stone to have been able to read it, so that he could have gotten to where the original owner had failed? What about the kyber crystals? They felt the Force in their structures. Was it the catalyst that made the journey possible? The original pilot tried to overcome their lack of a true way finder by combining two very different forms of Sith power.

It was then that the most important question entered his head.

Is it possible that he could get back to Tython?

In the excerpt, he shows off nine mysterious Sith creatures that have no presence in the Force. Is they real? Are they projections of Palpatine or actual Force users? It is not revealed. It's time to make good on our headline, because it's revealed that Luke can't defeat them until now.

There is a Force Ghost coming to help. They are wearing brown robes, have a blue lightsaber, and are able to hold back the mysterious Sith beings. Like you and I, he believes in Obi-Wan. The final piece of the excerpt is here.

The blue figure turned around.

He pushed himself up onto his elbow. He blinked.

It couldn't be.

It couldn't be.

The blue figure lifted his hood and saw a young man with a strong, sharp face, his gaze intense beneath a furrowed brow that was bisected by a straight, vertical scar. His hair was long and had a wave to it.

He reached out his hand.

Everything went white when he took it.

It's good old dad, who freed from the Dark Side, and he was on the Death Star. Will the two talk? What will be said and how will that change him? We will be waiting for the release of Star Wars: Shadows of the Sith to find out. The full excerpt can be found on the official Star Wars site.
