Front Office Sports reported Thursday that Las Vegas will host a Formula One race on Thanksgiving in 2023.
F1 is in talks with Las Vegas and Nevada officials to hold an annual race around the Las Vegas Strip. The race will be announced soon.
It will be the third US-based race on the F1 circuit. A new event in Miami will debut in May, and Austin, Texas, has hosted a race since 2012.
New York is a fourth American venue that F1 executives have shown interest in. Africa is the only continent without an F1 race yet.
The sport has enjoyed growing popularity in the U.S., in part due to a docuseries produced in collaboration with F1 called "Formula 1: Drive to Survive."
There was a temporary track built in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas in 1981 and 1984 for an F1 race.
