The Kansas City Chiefs had a major hole to fill after trading fast receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, and they reportedly found someone to help replace him.
The Chiefs agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with former Green Bay Packers wideout, according to Tom Pelissero.
According to Pelissero, Valdes-Scantling's contract could be worth as much as $36 million if incentives are included.
After missing six games with a hamstring injury, Valdes-Scantling was placed on injured reserve. He had 26 catches for 430 yards and three touchdown in 11 games.
The void left by Hill should be filled by Valdes-Scantling because of his ability as a deep threat. He has averaged at least 60 yards in each of the last four seasons.
The opportunities for chunk-yardage plays will be plentiful for Valdes-Scantling, who is known for his improvisation. Smith-Schuster signed a one-year, $3.25 million deal to play for Kansas City.
It will be important for Smith-Schuster and Valdes-Scantling to get to know each other quickly. The Kansas City Chiefs will not have an easy road as they try to win a seventh consecutive division title, as the division is one of the toughest in the league.
