According to the report, the man said Masvidal told him to stop talking about his kids. The fight was decided by a unanimous decision.
According to the arrest report obtained Wednesday night, the man said that his $90,000 watch was damaged in the incident.
Masvidal had an injury to his right hand that required stitches.
A request for comment from Masvidal was not returned.
Masvidal is one of the UFC's most popular fighters, a talented, self-made scrapper who grew up fighting on the streets of Miami. His representatives said at the time that he was one of the highest-paid fighters on the roster after signing a new contract with the UFC. Kamaru Usman has been challenged twice by Covington. He is one of the most popular fighters in the UFC. Over the past three years, Masvidal and Covington were roommates and training partners at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, but had a messy split over what Masvidal says was a stiffed coach.
