The congressman from Alabama said that Donald Trump asked him to remove President Joe Biden from his office.

He told the former president that his plan was not legal. The congressperson didn't say when Trump made the request, but his statement suggests it came after Biden's inauguration.

Trump withdrew his endorsement of his fellow Republican in the Alabama GOP primary for a US Senate seat.

Trump cited a call for Republicans to move on from the 2020 presidential election and focus on winning races this year and in the future.

At a Trump rally seven months ago, Brooks made that suggestion. In November 2020, Trump claimed that he defeated Biden, but was defeated in a second term by widespread ballot fraud in several swing states.

"I repeat what has prompted President Trump's ire, and he pulled his endorsement."

The congressperson said that President Trump asked him to remove Joe Biden from the White House, put him back in the White House, and hold a new election for the presidency.

As a lawyer, I have repeatedly advised President Trump that January 6 was the final election contest verdict and not the U.S. Constitution or the U.S. Code. Period, according to Brooks.

A request for comment on the allegation was not immediately responded to.

Despite his statement Wednesday, he still supported Trump's false claims that he won the election.

On the day after Biden's victory in Congress, Brooks gave a fiery speech outside the White House in support of Trump.

The certification of the election results was disrupted by a mob of Trump supporters.

More than 140 members of Congress voted against accepting the results of Biden's win in several states.

The former president was impeached by the House for inciting insurrection following the attack on the Capitol.

The Senate found Trump not guilty.
